SOMA Healing unites Western medical understandings of the body, modern somatic practices and ancient wisdom of the Soma healing rituals found in the East.
SOMA Healing recognises the body as the main agent in maintaining health and regenerating from illness. Our soma is constantly communicating its needs, what is beneficial and what is harmful to our organism.
In many cases pain, dis-ease and unfortunate life events are a result of consciously or unconsciously ignoring signals that our soma has been sending us for a long time.
The reasons for not listening to our body are often related to how we grew up in our family and society, how well our needs were met and if our boundaries were respected by our environment.
In a SOMA Healing session we create an intentional space to be able to connect through our body & mind to our soma, receive its signals, explore their individual meaning and follow the body's natural healing impulses.
individual sessions & groups

The more the body has to compensate for physical &/or emotional trauma the more it'll need external help to get back into balance.
Osteopathy is a sophisticated form of manual therapy that stimulates the body‘s own healing mechanism by facilitating more freedom of movement, blood flow, lymphatic drainage, myofascial unwinding and balancing of the nervous system.
"Somatic" Osteopathy is how I call my personal approach to this healing art, providing a safe space to express and explore emotions that can be released when working on the body.
The 5 types of healing touch
While structural Osteopathy provides the soma with a feeling of grounding and alignment by offering impulses to the joints and connective tissue, Craniosacral Osteopathy often induces a relaxing trance-like state of body & mind through very subtle touch. Deep Tissue massage mainly works on the emotional body with deep & long strokes- stretching the fascia and setting stuck energy in motion that can be released successfully with the help of breath & voice. Lomi Lomi Massage from Hawaii has very floating movements, reminding the soma of its oceanic origin & re-connecting to the flow of life. SOMA Healing Touch combines these different methods with a focus on a specific element if needed or asked for by the client. For more info please refer to the SOMA Healing Touch Fb page!
for individuals & groups at the SOMA Sanctuary
"Tierrapia" is a a new word creation combining two Spanish terms "tierra" (earth) and "terapia" (therapy).
It is based on a well-researched healing modality from Japan called "Shinrin-Yoku" which translates as 'forest bathing'. Studies demonstrate significant reductions in stress, anxiety, depression and sleeplessness even after short dips into the forest. SOMA Tierrapia sessions are about 1 hour walks into nature where mindfulness exercises facilitate the conscious connection of our soma with the earth.
This offer will be available for guests at the SOMA Sanctuary.
for individuals, couples & groups
SOMA Therapy is based on the body-oriented & trauma-informed psychotherapeutic modalities of Somatic Experiencing & Gestalt. Rather than relying solely on the client's narrative, this approach focuses on the signals with which the soma is communicating- be it in the form of symptoms, dreams, gestures, facial expressions or other aspects of body language. By creating a safe space the nervous system can go back into healing mode and process past trauma in the here & now.
for individuals & groups
Movement is another great modality to connect to our soma. During a SOMA movement practice our body can release and express emotions held in the connective tissue and joints.
In combination with conscious breathing techniques the soma can be aided to process trauma and create spontaneous rituals that support healing of the whole system.
Sessions, calls & audio files
Healing Imagery (HI) sessions are a wonderful way to deeply relax and rejuvenate. Similar to Hypnosis, SOMA HI carries many health benefits like regulating the nervous system, improving body awareness and developing beneficial habits.
You can choose between a personalised journey tailored to your current needs (in-person or phone call) or order audio files with subjects such as:
- SOMA HI for the Immune System
- SOMA HI for Pain Management
- SOMA HI for Deep Sleep
... and more covering the main health-related topics within this field during a 20min voice massage!
Soma healing rituals date back to more than 4.000 years ago as described in the RigVedas. The Soma Ceremony is probably the oldest healing ritual documented which greatly influenced the mystical traditions of Asia and alchemical concepts of the Western world.
In a SOMA ceremony we recreate the magic of ritual by gathering in a circle, sharing our truths, honouring our ancestors and celebrating life with dance, song, music and medicinal plants such as Cacao or the Blue Lotus; connecting deeply with ourselves, each other, our earth and the cosmos.
Please see EVENTS section for previous and future ceremonies.
"Food of the Gods"
- is the translation of "Theo-broma" - the Greek genus name for Cacao, as well as one of the many meanings of "soma": Just like Cacao was both a plant and a ritual drink of importance in ancient native Mesoamerican cultures, Soma was both a sacred plant and an entheogenic juice ingested for divine union during the Soma Ceremony celebrated in Vedic culture.
Although it is not yet agreed on which magical plant(s) the Soma drink consisted of, it probably was not containing Cacao. However, combining these two words with the same meaning underlines the divine healing abilities of Cacao and its ceremonial use combining Eastern & Western traditions.
Please get in touch if you'd like to purchase first class, organic, fair trade and raw ceremonial grade Cacao from a trusted source.
